New in Seafight: Guild Islands

Brand new update: conquer your guild island and build strong defense towers!

Ahoy Pirates,

The time has finally come: Seafight introduces the guild islands on the sea charts.

Starting immediately you can conquer your island together in your guild and build diverse towers which will come in useful in battle against other guilds.

Beware: pay close attention to this island – otherwise it will be captured by other hostile guilds quicker than you’d like. The battle and defense of your guild island is worth it: Even with the first island that you own, you profit from 10% more contents in the glitters and 10% less use of ammunition on all maps which are under your control.

In addition you also get a 1% discount on items in the bazaar per island and you can raise your guild tax by 1&% more.

These include such popular packs as the Glitter Doubler, the Bazaar Discount and the Loyalty Bonus. They are valid for a minimum of 8 weeks and may be purchased using any of the payment methods available in each respective country. Fill your treasure chest, Pirate!

Seafight: Elite Cannons vs. Event Cannons

What is actually the difference between elite cannons and event cannons?

The most important difference between an elite cannon and an event cannon is that event cannons aren’t always available. You can only purchase them on certain event days, for example, when there is a special promotion.

Are there any other special features? Yes, and these are:

- The event cannons have a longer range of fire than normal elite cannons. They can be shot a distance of 30 fields. Attention: This range of fire only kicks in after the second shot has been fired.
- Start an attack by approaching your opponent at the same distance as you would with an elite cannon. Afterwards you can also withdraw to a distance of 30 fields (instead of 25 fields like with the elite cannons) and you’ll still be able to hit your target – from a safe distance!

The event cannons don’t have increased firepower in comparison to the elite cannons nor do they damage quicker.

Seafight: Jackpot Battle Champions

Bigpoint presents: The Jackpot for €10,000 has been cracked twice!

Ahoy Pirates,

On Sunday August 31, 2008 and on Sunday September 28, 2008 the highly awaited Jackpot Battles for August and September took place. And we have multiple winners!

- For the month of August: The pirate with the most points in the individual player ranking is -BLACK*ANGEL- from the Russian map. He won 10,000 euros!

- For the month of September: The winner is "in_Memory_of..." (gernerquattro) from the German map. He also raked in 10,000 euros!


The guilds that were able to bring these battles to an end are: [C^B] from the Polish map for the month of August and the guild †☠† from the German map for the month of September.

We at Bigpoint congratulate all the lucky winners and wish all the other players just as much luck in the next exciting battle!

On October 12, 1492, Columbus reached the New World for the very first time. Back then
everything went smoothly – but today the largest modern pirate fleet awaits him.

Whoever delivers the deadly blow and sinks the Columbus ship receives the design.

On September 20, 1519 the Portuguese sailor Ferdinand Magellan set out to sea in the name of the Spanish crown to be the first explorer to go around the world. We are celebrating this historical date with you, pirates!

Magellan was always on the lookout for new straits and nothing could stop him. And what’s more, strong fleets were always looming in the distance ready to ambush and surround the explorers – a real adventure that can only be found at Seafight!

• Special ships that could not be stopped by Magellan himself now sail alone on the sea chart – even if they become damaged.
• Destroy one of these ships and bountiful booty awaits you.
• In order to survive against your opponent, buy some event cannons in the bazaar.

With the treasure hunter you’ll be sure to turn up every treasure!

The treasure hunter is a real war-horse and a soldier of fortune! He has a nose for the glitters, and can pinpoint any treasure within a certain radius of your ship on the mini-map. And all without using a divining rod – every tip leads to glitters, this hunter makes no mistakes! Select the display menu for the mini-map that will show you the glitters. And trust this seasoned treasure hunter: you’ll be rolling in dough - and in glitters!

Seafight summer games

Today on August 8, 2008 and just in time for the summer games on August 24, 2008, there will be event cannons at Basar once again. Act now, or who knows when you’ll have another chance to obtain these cannons.

Not in the fighting mood? Then win our sailing regatta! The starting point is located on the left-hand side of our world map – the goal is to get to the right-hand side of the map as fast as possible to reach the finish line there … and of course, to achieve a record time. Our daily winners are rewarded with a prize every day.

And not only that! If at the end you are the fastest sailor in all instances, then you’ve proven yourself to everyone and are worthy of winning the top prize!

For those of you who are curious: Collect our special treasure coins and each server’s winner will receive a prize – so collect those coins like mad.

Take care of your cannons! Get yourself a gunner’s mate.

Add a new mate to your pirate crew! Every day the gunner’s mate will repair 1% of the damage to your cannon. You can only hire him in the bazaar – get your hands on this loyal and trusty pirate – maybe you can even snap him up at a bargain price. Or you can exchange him for pearls. But remember: he’ll only stay on your ship for a tour of duty of 14 days; he’s in great demand!

Seafight: Watch out for your ships

Ahoy Pirates,

Unfortunately, now and again some of you click on the wrong thing when buying a ship and lose its Elite design. Until now, we've been fairly accommodating when it comes to reversing these mistakes, but it has also often been the case that pirates have used clever image processing to incorporate designs that they are not entitled to.

From now on, please take more care when clicking as in we will not restore the lost ship design if you have made an incorrect purchase or wrongly clicked.

Please pay special attention not to accidentally gain a ship for gold or to click "repair" too hastily, otherwise you may carelessly lose your hard-earned Elite ships or designs. If this occurs, you will have to get a new ship or design. Before buying a ship, there will be a clear warning about what the effects of a new purchase are.

Please do not take this action as anything malicious on our part. We simply want to avoid that ships can be gained for gold during a fight and then later called a “mistake” with a request for a restore. This has become an increasing problem, and that is why we are issuing this message.

All future requests in the forum, by E-mail, etc. for a restore will be referred back to this thread/news. We hope you continue to enjoy playing Seafight with this fairer rule.

Seafight: What is the bazaar?

Auctions and Buy now purchases at the bazaar

Seafight offers you a whole lot of equipment, ammunition, and weapons which you can use for your game. Many objects are available in different levels - the higher the level, the more effective the object is when you use it.

Of course, the better the object is, the more expensive it is. At the bazaar you can still get the items for a good price - and you might even find a real bargain. There are two ways to get the items you want at a bazaar:

1. The auction

You can bid on any item - at the end of each full hour, the winners of each auction receive the items they bid on.

Tip: The more players there are online, the higher the bids will go. Therefore it is a strategic factor when you decide to enter an auction.

Notice: Every bid includes a risk - because the amount you bid will be deducted from your account whether you win the bid or not.


2. Buy it now

With a Buy it now purchase, you can receive every item right away for pearls - the advantage: you don't lose anything when somebody snatches the object away from you, and in many cases you can even specify how many of the item you wish to buy.

New in the Seafight Jackpot Battle

New in the Seafight Jackpot Battle

Ahoy Pirates,

We are constantly working on improving the battle system so you can have the most fun possible with it. For this reason, the next Jackpot Battle will have a few rules changed.

The following will be different for the next Battle:

- Points for the ranking will be awarded in the future only for sinking other players (40,000 points per sunken opponent in the PvP). For NPC’s there will continue to be one ranking point for each hitpoint destroyed.
- Points for sinking will only be awarded when the sea chart is a Level 6 map or higher.
- Members of your own guild are no longer able to be attacked.
- Leaving your own guild during the Jackpot Battle will not be possible.
- No points will be deducted for lost hitpoints.

We hope that these changes will help you enjoy the battle more, and that you have a lot of fun in the coming Jackpot Battle!
